National Philanthropy Day is the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Greater Detroit Chapter's premier event to celebrate and honor the passion, commitment and leadership of Southeastern Michigan's philanthropists, distinguished volunteers and those in the fundraising profession.

Every June Giving USA releases its annual report on philanthropy detailing giving results and trends in the United States for the previous year. You’ve seen the numbers splashed through the media and heard them cited in talks, papers, and presentations related to fundraising. This workshop, presented by Helen Starman, a Giving USA 2017 Editorial Review Board member and contributor, will share relevant data and provide examples of how to use that data to inform, change, and/or improve annual and campaign planning, and the work of fund development staff and volunteers.
