UNIFIED – HIV Health and Beyond (UNIFIED) seeks a Director of Development to lead the organization’s fundraising and external relations efforts.  In 2015, AIDS Partnership Michigan (APM), located in Detroit, and HIV/AIDS Resources Center (HARC) located in Ypsilanti, merged to form UNIFIED – HIV Health and Beyond.  Rooted in the history of the fight against HIV, UNIFIED advances prevention, access to health care, community research and advocacy for residents of Lapeer, St. Claire, Monroe, Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston and Washtenaw counties.  Responsibilities of the position include planning, implementing and overseeing all strategic and operational plans for fundraising and representing the organization to external constituents, including civic, business, customers, donors, and foundations.  The Director of Development will work closely with the President & CEO as well as members of the External Affairs Committee of the Board of Directors and will serve as a member of the organization’s senior leadership team.  Strategic thinking and a calm and deliberate sensibility are critical to the success of this position as is an experienced track record in fundraising with a strong emphasis on building an individual giving program, volunteer management.  Must have the ability to engage a wide variety of people, corporations and foundations while translating those connections into deeper relationships with the organization.   This position will manage a special events contract employee.  The successful candidate must be willing to spend 50% of his/her time externally and must also be willing and able to work from both the Detroit and Ypsilanti offices.  A bachelor’s degree and minimum of ten years of experience in fundraising (including grant writing) with a proven track record of success is a must.  Detail oriented, excellent oral and written communication skills are desired.  Please submit resume and salary requirements via email to Virginia Fallis, Hammond & Associates at vfallis@hammond-associates.com.  Deadline for submissions is August 25, 2017.
